funkcjonalna i w dodatku dobrze wyglądająca apka
Don’t waste your money on this money- grubbing app. Twice, I’ve signed up for hikes where nobody showed up.
I grew up in a rough area in Los Angeles and I was apart of a gang. As I got older I grew out of advocating gang violence and I wanted to make new friends that share my interests and this app afforded me the opportunity to that. This app was exactly what I needed to find new friends that I could hang with from different backgrounds and social classes.
I am still shocked that there are people out there that don’t know about meetup. Please download and enjoy all this app has to offer.
I loved this app but lightweight hate it now. It’s annoying having an ad or paywall pop up every other page. I get that they are trying to make money by promoting their memberships but at this point it’s intrusive. Horrible user experience for free users, sad to see the devs do this.
With the price increase and now putting certain features behind paywalls you’re going to lose customers over this. In fact, I’m almost done with an open source project similar to meetup. It’s sad that you guys got greedy smh.
I updated the app and now my perfectly working widget now displays random advertisements for weird meetups insead of dispalying my next event like the widget description states it would. It is useful to have a display of my next event. It is a pointless widget if you are going to turn it into an ad. Fix this! P.S. your prices are too expensive. Adding the repeating event was an awesome upgrade.
It used to be that Meetup was about being an open forum to help people connect and truly opened up unencumbered space to meet new friends. Now they have transitioned to only being about the money. The addition of the Meetup+ puts up paywalls and makes it harder to connect with people. The flexibility and ease of finding and actually being able to connect with people is now limited and has been made more difficult by the addition of the “plus” account. Meetup has become the next jerky service like a million other apps limiting use, making you jump through hoops with subscription like services and making you pay. Like other apps before it, that have now withered up and died, Meetup will die next. People will start to use it less and eventually leave. It’s a shame.
They have been charging me approx $50 since last year for some unknown reason, I NEVER meant to subscribe
not fun to use at all
I have met quite a few friends through Meetup, friends I think who will be with me for life. The people are awesome. The app itself is not at all user-friendly. It is very difficult to find what I am looking for. It would be nice if it had a calendar where you could press on a specific date that you want, but you have to scroll and scroll and scroll instead. I have the app set up to send me email notices of events, and I have not received any in over two years, even though I have rechecked the app settings and of course, checked my spam folder.
I’m very hesitant to upgrade because the cost is unclear. Online the cost is one amount and upgrade via the app is something else. Having to pay to attend groups is not fair. I just don’t have the money to pay for the app and group fees too. Just too costly.
I love the events that you have. It is enriching my life
Majority of the app is locked behind a subscription and it’s basically useless if your area is dead.
I’ve been on meetup since at least 2009 and am truly disappointed with my experience over the last few months with laptop scammers posting repeatedly in groups about macbook giveaways. No amount of reporting, blocking or deleting posts from groups has had an impact and it shows negligence on meetup’s part to protect users from scammers. The same users will post across groups with the same verbiage day after day after day. If I’ve blocked or banned someone I shouldn’t be able to see their posts at all. And the same users should not be allowed to post the same phishing content but they can and they do. It makes you wonder if this is an inside job from meetup since they refuse to remove users. I may delete my groups from the platform this month as a result.
I have been Using app for several years and now can’t create a new event without an oops try again later message and the meetup for organizer app which is totally unnecessary in the first place won’t let me login because of errors. Why does this cost money if it won’t even work as well as a free app.
Opens in wrong page. It used to open on last page visited. Notifications should be default not explore. In notifications they used to show a small icon of group with event. Now just a blank white screen so you can’t get a feel for the group so I have no interest in it right off the bat. At least fix that part please. I work hard to put a picture of event to draw peoples interest. Blank white screen in not it.
They won’t let you cancel the membership. I’ve tried since before the free trial ended. I ended with the App Store, and in February they charged me. There is NO WAY to cancel the subscription with the App Store or in the app even though I see a label to, it just says no subscription after I cancelled it I’ve even contacted them multiple times since then and they still charge me, I don’t even use the app. When so one final responded 2 days before the pay period, and they said they don’t give refunds then charged me for the next period even though I said I want to cancel. This is theft!
I have tried several times to cancel my subscription and wasted too much time trying to cancel. Very irritating
If you pay for subscription it takes your money and then keeps telling you have to upgrade.
this implies either incompetence or malice. the app should not lock the ability to add events to your calendar behind full calendar access when the “Add events only” permission should be sufficient.
After trying so hard and time and money invested, I’m not really happy with the treatment I’m receiving ie lack of communication when someone acts maliciously at my event and the wrongful review stays on without any merit. Lack of support says a lot. I don’t think I will be renewing my membership if this is not resolved soon
I wanted to check a quick comment on the app, but it had 5 consecutive pop ups in a row to ask me about a previous event. By the time I got through those, I forgot what I wanted to search for. Also, comments do not update properly. I got a notification for a comment, but could not find the comment in the actual comment section. Please improve the comment section as discussions are important!
They constantly try to get people to spend more money! They charge each group to maintain a group, but then try and get members to spend more unnecessarily! Then trying to find where they have your credit card info is impossible!
It is really hard to find groups anymore
This app was 5 stars but now is 2 stars. You have to pay for everything now
What used to be a fun and easy way to network has turned into a meaningless cash grab. So sad…
Meetup needs money. It starts to limit important features that have kept their users. Problem is, it gets less people participating, then groups die. The current model is not sustainable. Look at the groups you follow, no coming up events, unless you subscribe. You cannot messaging people unless you pay, as a participant! Meetup’s prime time is over. Soon it is a history, sadly.
New owner Bending Spoons changed billing model. In addition of charging organizers they are now charging end users to be able to communicate $4.99 per 7 days. I think they mean per month. Even paying the messaging system is very restrictive. They took away messaging and membership rosters.
Why aren’t there more activities in Durham? And why can’t we view everyone that is going without paying for this advantage? Liz
App keeps crashing. Won’t allow me to create events, which is literally why it exists.
Seems like every button push results in a popup to sell you a subscription. The admin already pays a lot. Why do casual users have to pay too?
After its acquisition and the struggle and bankruptcy of its parent company, meetup has gone from good to bad to worse. They locked all features that used to be free behind a paywall with a ridiculously high price. The features in the app haven’t been updated in years. It’s a very sad cautionary tale for what happens when founders sell out.
An app with issues that were never resolved for years. At least 50% of the features will not work or show wrong information.
App and website are becoming useless now thanks to worsening paywalls and glitches. Worse, I kinda live in void, as I already knew. Hour minimum from either major city “near” me, assuming traffic. Continually little of interest if you are a single 30-something that doesn’t work 9-5, M-F, and doesn’t drink much. My area is simply dominated by the 55+ crowd and drinkers willing to drive long distances for meetups literally at times I often can’t go anyway. Uncommon 30s groups are rarely active for more than a year, too, and often have events far away from me. One group with my region in its title mostly has events on the other side of the world! Oh, and don’t even assume it’s possible to find someone here for a serious relationship! So, ugh…
This app started charging you for items it previously gave for free. For example, it charges you for sorting through an RSVP? Want to message someone? Pay for it. Want priority wait list? Pay for it. And this app is full of glitches. I started recommending to the groups I’m in to transition to other apps. Thankfully some have been listening. I can’t wait to stop using this greedy and glitchy app.
Best app ever
Keeps sending me to things I don’t want & wouldn’t let me comment on an even I was going to. Lots of junk poping up. The people are great though😊
Nothing will load after the recent update.
I really don’t like that meetup is charging to become a member now. It used to be free. I am an organizer and a member now and I’m already paying a lot to be an organizer. I also had to start charging members to help defray the cost to be an organizer. A lot of organizers are moving to FB because of this. I also think we are losing members b/c of having to pay to use the app and go to the groups. Really not fair. At least keep the members app free.
Buggy
4/1/25 update. More things broken with the latest update. Under ‘Going’ it shows my entire history of events instead of the upcoming ones. A message I sent was put into the string of a completely different person. Old: I was having the problem where events showed TBD for all locations, and the About was blank. Now that fixed, but the RSVP lists will only show 5 people, even when there’s 20 going. I see why everyone is moving over to Facebook instead. Phone: iPhone 15 pro max with latest iOS version.
The app not like the website.. on the app upcoming events I registered not showing!! Also any new events now shown !?
Since latest iOS update, there are no longer any notifications that I am receiving, as well as events are not popping up. I will click a group that I know has events and i am signed up for but everything is saying “no upcoming events” meetup please fix this. Also very pushy with meetup pro promoting you every single time.
Are you trying to scare everyone away?
They now don't show events in groups. It used to be a fun app before the greed took over.
I used to love this app. Met people with the same interests and and friends with some of them still long after the meetup disappeared. After a hiatus I downloaded the app and am unable to find anything relevant to my interests. Not only that, but the suggested events were all expensive spiritual retreat spa type activities when the keyword I was searching for was “calligraphy” What an absolutely horrible app now!
I am an organizer and many people in my community have enjoyed my events so I have persisted in being an active user. Unfortunately within the last quarter of 2025, I have noticed a gradual yet significant decline in the apps functionality. Currently, the photo icons of certain groups wont load in my feed, when I open my group under 'Upcoming Events' I am being shown events from well over a 8 months ago up to a year ago. Today, I am seeing that I am seeing that my RSVP for upcoming events from other groups well OVER a year ago are no present on my main page. With the addition of having a problem every time I open the app. I am considering moving away from the platform and engaging in some other form. I used to be able to tell people it was a great way to meet people, but it seems the focus has shifted away from that market base and onto improving subscription services. A great loss indeed.
Meetup more than doubled the fee for organizers. This is not feasible for small groups. Meetup needs to get advertisers and lower the fees for small groups where they cannot charged members a high fee.
Latest update causes group events from showing up on the group home page. When I click on one of my groups, it shows no upcoming events when I know there is one because there’s one on my calendar. It works fine on the website, but it’s broken on iOS with your latest app update!
