Meetup: Social Events & Groups App Reviews

Im so disappointed! I loved this app and how easy and functional it was to use. Its how I made 90% of my friends after moving and after kids - but this update has been a nightmare. I dont want to scroll through all the information of the next meetup to see all the others. The comments are no longer easily accessible and theyre not coming through as notifications - so we are either having to give out our phone numbers or stare at our phones constantly. I miss the old app.

The previous versions of Meetup where functional but lacked some capability that required using the desktop version. The current revision is a disaster. Features have been moved so they are now almost impossible to find if they are present at all. I have stopped using the app for all intent and purpose.

This version is unpleasant and difficult to use. Its inconsistent in posting pictures, sometimes easy other times its impossible. The other versions improved over time and this one went backwards. I hate it. Replace it with something that works.

The app used to work okay, now I get a badge indicating new notifications but when I open it up and check, there are none. Tried to disable/reenable notifications as suggested on forum...no luck.

App seems to be a little clunky. Always shows a pending message on the app icon, when all have been read. This version seems "half-baked".

This is first time writing a review, but since this new update is so horrible, it warrants a review. This app is now useless because they got rid of the notifications. They left the badge so you see you have a notification, you just cant see what it is. Why would you get rid of one of the most useful features of the app?

It was a little easier to use before the update. It works to show the various meet ups but as a leader I need to be able to contact my members quickly or cancel a meet up or make changes. It doesnt allow me to do that now, the way it use to. I feel like I should be able to do everything from my cellphone and not have to go to my desktop but that is not the case. I think maybe they need a separate AP for leaders that has more function and let it be an extra benefit for the amount we are already paying each month

The app is good for finding out about current Meetups that are nearby.

Ive used Meetup to learn photography skills, meet people my age/lifegroup in the area, and build my business. It fills a need to everyone!

Enjoying seeing all the things I can do during the week and weekend depending on my interest. RSVP is great because it lets my walk leader know Im coming and expects me

Its not quite as easy to use as the older version but it works okay.

I used to love this app but the new Version is beyond terrible. The website is equally as bad. No idea why it was changed but it really needs to go back to how it was.

New app is hard to sort through. Its aweful!

Love looking for new things to do and people to meet! They recently made changes in the app so finding past meet up dates for comment and pictures keeps changing. But overall I met some terrific people!

They should have concentrated on making the UI of the older version more responsive. The navigation on the new version never seems to get me where I want to be....and it is still slow.

So, I downloaded the app because it seemed like a good way for me to get out of the house. However, after a failed attempt to sign up using my Google account and instead trying to sign up with my Facebook account I was signed in. This was quickly made irrelevant, however, as the program flagged my IP for the extremely "suspicious behavior" of signing in for the first time. Attempting to use the app in any capacity results in an error message that reads "Oops: Invalid oauth credentials". As I am not a programmer, Im cant really be sure what this means, other than that I cannot use the app. Prior to this I was quite excited to see what this app had to offer. My technical difficulties soon curbed my enthusiasm. A quick glance at other reviews quickly extinguished any remaining excitement, at least for this version.

As a regular member of meetup since 2009, I am so disappointed

It doesnt make sense anymore. I see I have 5 notification then open the app and nothing. Not sure whats improved. A groaner for sure. The last version was head and shoulders better than this over-engineered poo-poo.

Where did the Calendar go, the app flips around uncontrollably. This app definitely went to the low bidder. There is no easy way to even look up groups. This app is junk.
